A little suprised

Post by Primarch » Fri Jul 06, 2012 8:39 am

The 6th ed rules have been out for a week now. The game that the majority of the users of this forum play, or at least have some familiarity with, has changed (drastically in some ways), and we have just a couple of pages of discussion on the topic???

Have folks given up on 40K? Is 6th ed the time when we all realise we could be outside enjoying our lives rather than cooped up in our hobby rooms painting up a new army ready for the tabletop? Is everyone switching to Warmachine or FoW?

I say thee "Nay!"

6th ed. looks different to 5th, but I see no reason why it cant be a fun game to play. Assault armies have taken a bit of a hit, but in 5th, the assault phase was what generally won you the game. (Tau and IG excluded).

I have my first game of 6th ed. lined up for tomorrow. I for one am looking forward to testing the new rules. :D

40K is dead. Long live 40K!!!

I assume no one has the rule book yet or has played any 6th edition games yet. :)

True, but I was expecting a little more discussion since most of the rules are available online.... :D

I suspect it's because those of us who are inclined to dig for rules onlIne are also the ones who give the least of a hoot about the new 40k, or 40k in general. It bugs me slightly when people assume lack of interest in 40k = lack of interest in gaming. It couldn't be further from the truth - I'm losing interest in 40k precisely because all the other games I play have taken my attention away from it. It just doesn't rate much anymore in my book. Not saying I won't play it, but it'll be when I fancy something different, rather than as my default game.

I am still reading the book and the rules are still abstracts in my mind. If I could get a game of 40k I would play it.

That's not quite what I said.

So feel free to be slightly unbugged anytime you want. :D

Haven't played a game of anything in a long time. Haven't bought the new book and haven't seen the new rules. Given how bad my depression has been, probably won't be playing anything for a long time. So I let all of thee sort out everything while I just move along through what passes for my life.

I need to give the book a proper read through still.

But once I have, I shall be all over that game like;

white on rice.

a redneck on a city boy with a purrrty mouth.

I'm having another crack at 40k with the new edition (no rules as yet though), so I too hope for some folk to play with!
