But much bigger than the original ones. The basic shape hasnt changed, just now they look like they actually could hold a fully armoured Space marine. The original ones were bloody puny.

Having bought a few IA books before, they are very, very nice, but I guess it comes down to how much you are willing to pay to have nicely printed rules vs. A black and white scan on your ipad. I dont mind paying for content, but from the description it looks like you are paying for the leather cover etc which isn't quite the same thing.

#edit# hmm just got the FW newsletter in my inbox. The bikes come with 4 weapons options, Heavy Bolters, Multi Meltas, Plasma Cannons and Volkite Culverins. I don't know what that last one is, but a squadron of jetbikes packing Multi Meltas sounds nasty. Also, from the wording of the newsletter it is quite possible that there will be other jetbikes in the future.

So this Horus Heresy book? Is it basically a rule set and fluff background tome for the novels so you can play the characters from there?
It look bloomin impressive whatever it is.

@ash - yup, that's pretty much it. Unlike most other IA books which require you to have the codex for your particular army in order to play with them (eg IA11 has a bunch of eldar stuff in it, but you still need an eldar codex to play them) the Horus heresy book(s) are supposed to be completely self contained. One HH book and the 40k core rules and you're good to go. I guess this is to underline a point that GW have been making for ages, to whit: the ultramarines legion is NOT the ultramarines chapter. Completely different animals. In fact, the way the HH books are being pitched, it seems like they're barely even part of warhammer 40k (I guess the name should be a giveaway, really.) Basically, from here on in FW will make 3 distinct miniature lines:

1) Imperial Armour - vehicles and infantry for WH40k
2) Warhammer Forge - monsters and infantry for Warhammer Fantasy
3) Horus Heresy - vehicles and infantry for battles in the 31st millennium.

That's how I understand it, anyway...
