ACES. High Elves with great weapons STILL always strike first. Along with the added bonus of re-rolling hits if you have a high initiative. All Sword Master army here I come. :D

Glad to see you wasted not time finding the broken units... I read the Daemon FAQs and I guess I will have to Read the Rocket Hammer rules as well as the Daemon Army book to make heads or tales of them...

Sword Masters have always been good. I was worried they'd been nerfed. Instead they got better.

Reading your own rules is always a good idea.

One thing I did find irksome.
When selecting spells you cant duplicate any unless they are either A) a signature spell, or B) your rules say you can pick your spells. This is no problem for those armies that have a lot of lores to choose from (Empire, High Elves etc) but can be problematic for those armies which only have 1 list to choose from (Vamps, Orcs).
For example, Goblin shamans are cheap, you can get 5 level 2 gobbos in your army for less than 500 points if you try. However, since you only have six spells to choose from 2 of your shamans dont actually know any spells. Vamps have the same problem. Getting over six caster levels from vamps is easy, but beyond a certain point their vampires dont know any spells. Luckily vamps have necromancers who can pick their spells (option B above), so expect to see some of those guys appearing in VC armies around the world.

You are allowed to always get your default spell, so all of those goblins can take the first spell as default and leave a lvl 4 for the bigger spells if you like.

As usual, GW have made certain things very clear but other things as clear as mud. I've only had a read of the Beastmen and Dark Elves FAQs but there are already a few of their FAQ answers that need FAQing.

Dark Elves

The new rulebook, the FAQ and the Army book can't seem to make sense of the Cauldron of Blood. No-one can seem to figure out how it's meant to work in combat.

The Ring of Hotek, one of the most loathed magic items hasn't been really cleared up at all. People on Druchii.net have taken to using the wording from the German GW faq. WTF?

Beastmen
Who actually has the ambush rule? Does this new BRB rule over-ride the Army Book Rule. Does this rule actually affect anyone else? Dwarf Miners? Tomb Scorpions?

No, you can always get your signature spell. Only the new lores of magic have one though. The defaulting to the number 1 spell no longer exists. Basically any army without access to other lores can only take 6 caster levels worth of wizards in the army.

The German version is more powerful or is worded differently somehow. Despite your love for WW2 Deutschlanders we'll be playing with the English version Fritz.
