It was a fun day at Joshin! :P

First, I squeezed in a game with Yellow Streak. We played a mission that comes with the Millenium Falcon/YT-1300. The Imperials were trying to get some cargo containers off the board. I focused on knocking out the escorts. YellowS focused on the YT and pushing the containers off the board. I had luck and the imperials were knocked off the board with one container off the board and the other two only one move from the table edge. It was close and fun!

Big thanks to Y-S for the game and bring X-Wing down.

Then, after lunch I played Underdweller. We were able to play 3 full turns in about less than 2 hours. It was fun and I learned stuff about the new 'Nids along with the usuals stuff about 40k rules.

BTW, Underdweller, some rules I think we missed:
• You might want to check the S on your termagaunt weapons. Koji and I were chatting about 'Nids afterwards and he mentioned they might be S4 and not 5. Not that is made a big difference.
• Also I think the round you killed 9 cultists with defensive fire, I should have taken a disorder check. I was fearless, but I think I possibly would have lost the attacks for charging.

Anyway, thanks to Underdweller for the game.

And it was fun chatting with all of you. See you guys later. :)

A fun day, indeed!

Mike had a fun surprise in store for me with a fully-painted Epic squat force, and unfortunately we found that the scenario I'd put together was maybe a bit tricky for someone not totally familiar with their army. I'm guessing nearly a third of his total points never really got into the game thanks to a) arriving late, b) arriving from the opposite side of the board, and most importantly c) being extremely slow. If I'd had to face both superheavies from the start of the game it probably would have been a very different proposition. So, back to the drawing board!

Then we did some X-Wing, which was good fun, although I'm thinking that the game doesn't shine at big points values, since you seem to spend a lot of your time crashing headlong into other ships. :)

@Job: Yep, Koji is right! I was thinking about the upgrades for Warriors (Devourers to Deathspitters ) but for Gaunts it was actually Fleshborer to Devourer. I think disordered charges are only made when you are charging multiple units? Anyway, that just reinforces that you won the game. Thanks for helping me to brush up on my 40K rules!

And thanks to Koji for my first game of Malifaux 2E! I'll look up those rules we weren't sure about (poison vs armor, and whether you can attack yourself or not) for next time.

Well I had a good time today. My leaders were all killed by force weapons, but they came right back to life when we brought them over to the obelisk of darkness and now they are just fine and not the least daemonic. And we got away from the Grey Knights, so all in all we call it a win.

@asch Thanks for a great game. We'll need to play a continuation some time. Perhaps an Inquisitor will be looking to hunt down my characters now.

@Auxryn Thank you for a fun game! It was your words that reminded me of the Battle Missions. I enjoyed it even if my army was almost tabled twice ;-)
I've wrote a short account of our battle on my blog. You can see several pictures you helped me to take.

Mike! Finally! I knew you had it in you. Did they turn out purple?

Thanks for the games guys, an enjoyable day! The force was obviously with the rebels as they took both games, but in fairly close fashion both times.

I think that's less of a point value thing than an experience thing. Even at low points you can have alot of 'collisions', but the more you play and better you get at visualizing where each move will place you (and remembering to check who will move first!), the less bumpercar-esque it is.
So many games, so little time....

Fair enough! :) TBH, I wasn't putting a great deal of thought into movement beyond "I suppose I ought to head in this general direction," heh.

Thanks for writing up the battle report! It's always interesting to read a battle report in Japanese because I get to hear words that we don't normally use in daily life.
