Thank you guys for coming to the event and the exiting game!
It is a memorable game for me not only because I cannot bring such a big army with me to The U.S., but also because it is fun in itself to see such big painted armies on the table. As Auxryn wrote, it was full of dramatic turns.

I'm sorry about some ill arrangements, especially confusion about the pick-up site (Kondo-san and me had different konbini in each mind when we talking about it) and hasty finish and packing. I hope everyone joining the event enjoyed the game despite of those mishaps.

By the way, Kondo-san and I calculated the result which was unclear because of hasty ending, and find that the Combined Tau Sphere beat our Imperium (and its pretenders) Coalition 17 vs 14.
The breakdown is...
Tau: 3 markers on 1st break (3 pt.), 2 on 2nd (4 pt.), and 5 at the last (15 pt.). Kill Baneblade, Storm Lord and my Warlord.
AM and friends: 3 markers on 1st break (3 pt.), 4 on 2nd (8 pt.) and 1 at the last (3 pt.). Kill Aun'ba and all characters in the Council formation.

@Auxryn
Got rained a bit? We Japanese learned you say it rained cts and dogs in our high schools :oops:
Anyway, you stuck well to the objectives and placed your warriors on right places. Your commander proved his grid to his Ork fellows ;)

@job
Your beautifully painted Night Lords were awesome sight on the table. I am afraid that we left them midst Tau's crossfire, though I still think Flank March was the best choice to utilize their potentials. I wish I could help you out to dealing with shots from multiple players, either by distract part of their attention to our units or by checking enemy player's rolls while you were busy dealing with another. It helped me a lot that you kept track of the number of saves I must take while I was away from some of my units.
Your Hellbrute also did fine job to earn 5 Victory points almost by himself in the last moments.

@The Underdweller
Your battlesuits did great job blowing up my vehicles, especially Stormlord (as I remember).

Go Tau!

Kondosan and Asch, thanks for hosting and organizing the event! Asch we'll miss you at Joshin. Hopefully you can come back for a game now and then on holidays!

As for my Battlesuits, I was a little underwhelmed by the performance of my largest group, due mostly to my lack of forsight (but no lack of Farsight) when I placed them. I believe it was my bare bones Hammerhead that destroyed your Stormlord with a lucky shot, and Commander Markerlight managed to Death or Glory a Landraider as well!

Anyway, it was a lot of fun, and kudos to Job for dealing with the pressure of having about 10,000 points of Tau (give or take a few 1000) run by 3 different players all shooting his forces at the same time. Certainly, having a horde of Chaos coming on behind the Tau gunline seems like a good strategy.

Asch, I hope you can remember this battle for a while. It was very epic to see 22, 000 points on one table top, with 5 super-heavies and even one monstrous flyer, the Manta.

@ Satoru, Asch, Kondo-san, Komura-san, Auxryn, and Underdweller: Good game to you all!

@ Asch and Kondo-san: Big thanks for hosting the event and letting everyone come and play! You guys were great hosts and the Apocalypse game was well run.

@ Asch, Underdweller: Oh, don't worry about the fact my units had to eat the combined firepower of three Tau armies. I had about 2 Chaos armies after all. Anyway, I got to dish out some pay back at the end of turn 4. Also, Asch, all credit for my Nightlords has to go to Danguinius, the Primarch of Hiroshima.

@ Auxryn: Thanks to Auxryn for letting me play out the assault of the Greater Brass Scorpion. It was fun to blast and squish Tau. :D

@ Kondo-san: Your D-weapon blast from the Shadowsword killed 914 points in one blast. :o (That is the 3rd time I've learned not to deepstrike a giant ball of terminators!)

@ The Tau Empire: There will be pay back!!! :!: :evil:

The Battle

The battlefield after Day 1. IG defense line commanded by Komura and Asch along the left side. Tau armored column crossing the battlefield beneath the protecting wings of monstrous Mantra. The battle comes to an interlude as a sandstorm blows in.

Under the cover of the sandstorm, the Tau muster reinforcements and dig in along a new line.
Image

Tau assault the Imperial flank with deep striking battle suits and infiltrating kraut.

Battle is rejoined with a poor Space marine sergeant taking a plunge from a tower. Or is that a traitor legion champion?
Image
Hammerheads fire long range support to their hotly engaged battle suits.
Image
The Baneblade explodes!
Image

Suddenly emerging from the rear and flank pour on the Imperial reinforcements! Salamanders march on the field in support of IG brethren (Satoru), and a mysterious force appears to the rear of the enemy.
Image
Image
Terminators descend from the sky!

Unfortunately that's where the poor Imperial photographer must have bit the dust, as the footage ends. Maybe he was caught in the crossfire? Regardless it was a brutal day to be a man or tau.

Good game to all participants!

Again, it was a great game!
The Imperials might have gotten one more point because the Greater Brass Scorpion ran down my ethereal in the final moments of the battle. It was a close battle and ultimately determined by deployment and movement as much as by the massive firepower brought to bear.
