@Mike: Good looking Valhallans! You've inspired me to get off my butt and continue painting my own troops.

Or, vehicles anyway. I'm currently working on a pair of chimeras. I don't think there's any chance I'll have a 100% painted list for each of the 3 Naghammer missions, but 1 or 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Can't believe I haven't posted here in nearly a week...

Anyway, I've been working on my corsairs, which need 2, maybe 3 sessions to finish, then I can get started on my Void Singer. I've expanded my original 2 corsairs to include a further 3 with heavy weapons. Reason being, I used to have a nice squad of 10 corsairs, with 2 special and 2 heavy weapons. Then the rules changed in the new book and heavy weapons were remove out to form their own squad. So, I was painting up 2 more special weaps to replace the heavies who left. But, rather than leave the 2 heavies, I'm doing another 3 so there's a useable 5 man squad (and besides, who doesn't like a 5 man squad of Eldar with EMLs and Dark Lances up the wazoo? Also, jet packs. (and T3 and a 4up save, but hey ho can't have everything...)

So, not much to show at this point, but progress is being made.

@Spev- Score! Be careful and don't put those in your mouth now. I was just watching John Oliver and Elmo warning us about lead poisoning.

I cobbled together a couple of Squat/Orks with Saw- off Antitank Guns/Rokkit Launchaz for Naghammer.

'cause when you are real man, you fire a 45mm cannon from the hip.

Also painted up one of my scratch built stunties. Not a great sculpt. From the back there are a lot of mistakes. Eyes ended up looking bloodshot, but I imagine a great many Squats go to battle hung-over.

@Konrad - Nice squats.

I took a day off from painting my BA army to travel up to Fort Spevna. In about 4 hours, we played three games of In The Emperor's Name, a fan made 40K skirmish game.
It is Awesome!!!

For the first time in a long time, I want to paint 40K minis. Heck, I want to buy 40K minis.

It was easy, it was fun and it was free of all the rules bloat infesting 40K. Hopefully Spevna will not be a lazy git and will post some pictures of our games.

It gets the Prim stamp of approval.

Wow, that is quite the complement! Must be worth trying!

As far as a rule set goes, I'm sure it has it's faults. It would probably be quite easy to break the game if you made the effort to do so. But as a quick beer and pretzels style game, it works well.

Dear Nagoyahammerites,

I am in a quandary.

Last week I played X-wing, and thoroughly enjoyed it (again). I've also been watching the new SW film with the kids. Also thoroughly enjoyed it.

I now really really want to buy the X wing minis game.

Please explain to me why I shouldn't walk down that road.

Sincerely,
MiJ

Because all the minis come pre-painted, so you will never be able to complain about not having time to paint your minis?

X-Wing seems like a good game. I did think the prices were a little on the high end of the scale for what you get, but other than that, it seems pretty good. It's published by FFG right? They do have a tendency to suddenly drop product lines if sales aren't up to a certain limit, but given how popular the game is at the minute, I imagine they will keep churning out minis and cards for some time to come.
