Warhammer Quest was definitely a lot of fun, I thought. I sort of think it all came down to my somewhat rash decision to do a suicide exploration rather than try and rest on that last turn - if we'd paced our exploration over two turns we might have been able to pull it off. Who knows!

Definitely! Nothing like a game with your own collection to show its gaps. Hopefully I can take advantage of the global turmoil to get some guys cheap. A squad of infantry, a mortar, and something like an armored car to replace the (somewhat pricey for 750 points) tank and I should be good to go.

Thanks to Primarch as well for the very generous gift of some N-gauge terrain! I'm already assembling it, and I'm sure it'll be put to good use.
Feel free to call me Dave!

@YS: Bloody free howitzer! A good game though. Could've gone either way. I can't wait to get my own legion going.
Thanks for the game mate. Yeah a couple of different dice pulls and it's a very different game. Have you seen this list for the kiwis? http://www.warlordgames.com/army-list-2 ... 41-part-3/

Thanks to Prim, Koji and Monster for the TNT game. It was a good chance to brush up on the rules and I'm looking forward to more adventures in the wastelands!
So many games, so little time....

Thanks for the dungeon crawl! It was an interesting game and I think we could win it next time. Definitely worth another try.

Seconded! I hope we can have another chance to get out of the dungeon another month.

It was also nice to get my Lizardmen out for a game of Kings of War. It had some major advantages over Fantasy Battle - mainly that we could pick it up with a quick glance at the rules the night before, and still finish a game of it in 2 hours while looking after an active baby.

I am not sure if it would be a good replacement for those who were strongly invested in Fantasy. It does have a lot of similar elements (large blocks of troops, positioning being very important, same basic turn structure).

It is much simpler - fewer special rules, spells, etc. There are zero rolls made by the defender (even armour and morale checks are made by the attacker). However, the turns go quick enough that the defender shouldn't get too bored, I wouldn't think.

The Lizards seemed to have a pretty strong advantage over the Undead. That could have been to do with our lists, rather than the armies in general.

Anyway, we should give MtP's system a try sometime and see how it compares!

Looks quite interesting. Some of the history is wrong though. It was s fine blooding for the Maoris (they didn't see much action in Greece). If only HQ had properly co-ordinated the counter attack at Malame. The Fallschirmjager were already shaken by the ferocity of the Kiwis. Oh well, that's history for ya.
