What did you do today.

I cleaned up my decals a bit with the vallejo medium, for a marginal improvement. I also impulse-bought some smoke while I was at the store...

Moving on from the decals, I dabbed on some mud and chipping effects to my tanks and then started painting the metal surfaces. I finished all the tracks and am working on the other details now.

To-do list:
Finish metal base paint
Wash metals
Apply weathering powder
Paint searchlights
Paint weapons

Disaster struck today! I removed some masking tape and the paint job underneath followed it seems I didn't prime the foam as thoroughly as I should have. Went into repair mode and recovered the damaged part but damn the building. It cost me the time needed to work on my high rise that will be going half finished to Nagoyahammer now
Costly lesson learned. Micro Arts Studio foam needs a lot of priming.

I finished up 3 more Skitarii (more of the same, no picture) and did up the first of Magore's Fiends for Shadespire:



Turned out pretty good, despite a bit of a wobbly primer coat (and yes, bear witness to my "let's use red only as a spot color in a khornate warband" bloodymindedness on display here ). This fella (Zharkus the Bloodsighted) is my favorite model in the bunch, although to be honest this is one of the "they're all pretty sweet models" warbands in the line as far as I'm concerned. Two more Fiends and their doggo to go.

I spent a couple of productive, if not very visually inspiring hours this evening prepping a couple of minis I'm painting for a client just now. They're a similar resin to the raging heroes minis, with perhaps a tad less quality control, so there was a fair bit of gap filling, air-bubble filling and general fixing up of small annoyances. Still, they're nice enough figs once assembled, and should paint up nicely. Fireforge Games Amazons, for those who care.

No real hobby work for me today. I fixed the broken images in my thread on the Hobby Log forum in preparation for some more posting in the near future.

I'm considering buying a squad of 10 crusaders for my guard army, so I spent some time looking at various female paladin-type miniatures. I might just use the GW models since they have helmets anyway, but it will look strange if I run crusaders in unisex armor alongside boob-plate sisters in later years.
Or, more likely, I won't buy anything. I still have lots of girls to paint as it is.

Wow, those sacred warriors are exactly what I was looking for - very similar in aesthetic to the GW crusaders, but with easily-swappable heads.
