Speed Freaks & Ork Buggiez

Post by Primarch » Tue Aug 14, 2018 9:50 pm

It looks like GW is continuing their trend of releasing new toys alongside new boxed sets. In Orktober a game called Speed Freaks is being released alongside a brand new Ork Warbuggy.

Time to get your WAAAGGHHH!!! on.

It's a lovely buggy! And a peek inside the Speed Freeks box (thanks to Spevna over on the facebooks) looks like:

Probably 4 buggies plus terrain, and also:

Some different base sizes, which is interesting. The buggy "proper" from the community video looks to be on an Ironstrider-sized big oval vase (which, to inject the obligatory touch of pessimism, doesn't necessarily suggest good things about its money-cost-to-points-cost ratio - but OTOH you can get 4 in a probably-discounted Speed Freeks box, so the question may be moot), so who knows what goes on the smaller ones.

Hold up, more sprue pics:

And the answer is "bikes"! (Which, looking at the bases, suggests you may get a buggy sprue and a sprue of bikers for each team rather than two buggies.)

The bikes look like the current ones, though in a non-standard colour of plastic. The black sprues look like they could be terrain?

Yeah, the black ones look pretty barricade-y to me too.
