I saw that just after I'd ordered mine! We'll see how much it sets my sister back to ship the season 1 box and a team to me - it might be tricky to keep up to date with it. Is there supposed to be much in the way of new rules (aside from the new team cards in there), or just a repackaging with dwarves in?YellowStreak wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 8:29 pmBlitz Bowl is good fun! Season 2 (version 2?) is about to be released next month...The Other Dave wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 12:44 amI've been chugging through nurglings the past week or so, which is getting dull I tell you what, so I'm also doing a bit of work on the Traitor Command expansion for Blackstone (the renegade commissar and chaos ogryn), then yesterday I picked up the orc warband for Underworlds, and a goblin team for blood bowl, the latter mostly because I also got my sister in the States to go to Barnes and Noble to pick up blitz bowl for me and send it along.
I've been hearing lots of good things about blitz bowl as a fast-playing alternative to blood bowl, so figured what the heck. The main thing it seems to lack versus BB "proper" is league play, which we can never manage anyway, so a 30-45-minute version with by-all-accounts really good design by James M. Hewitt seems an easy purchase.
What did you do today.

Speaking of, I finished up my Goblin team for Blitz Bowl*, the Schtroumpf City Deffkaps. Good fun to paint up!

*They'd work for Blood Bowl as well, of course, except that I'd have to buy a bunch more stuff and they still wouldn't be competitive, soooo I probably won't.

@ToD - Awesome little Schtroumpf team!
I finished up some more Elves today.

Kinda happy with how the sashes turned out.

@Primarch Those are some mighty upset looking elves. I'm not sure if its what you were going for but the sashes and the colour scheme makes them look Scottish (to me with my limited knowledge of what a Scottish colour scheme would look like).
Anyway, here are some random pictures of stuff I've been up to since I haven't been posting much lately.
I made some progress batch painting drones but all that panel lining and painting tiny repetitive bits gets pretty tiring.

So I painted up a Piranha to break up the tedium which was pretty fun. I even put some transfers on it but I'm still not too sold on transfers. It probably needs a matte coat and some weathering to help it blend better.

And finally some 3rd party Tau weapons. GW would make a killing just selling weapon kits for Tau but I guess that's too much work for them. They're all standardized too so it could be an upgrade kit like what they have for the different flavours of Marines. Anyway these ones are pretty good even if they are resin.

@Karantu - Thanks! It's not really Scottish Tartan, but that was the sort of look I wanted to lean towards.
The Tau look good. The 3rd party weapons look cool, they help emphasise the experimental nature of Tau technology.

@Karantu Tau are looking slick! If I could field an army of exclusively giant robots and have it not be trash I'd pick up Tau.

We should have some big event once we hit 1000 pages in the "What did you do today" thread.

Finished up Morgok's Krushas for Underworlds:

Leaning in harder than usual to my "never paint it like the studio scheme" stance, and only realized after I'd got started that I sort of inadvertently just recreated Fel Orcs from WoW. Ach, well!

Re: What did you do today.
They look fantastic - can't wait to see them on the board, maybe we can have a multiplayer Orruk bash at the next Westernhammer?
Today I finished my first models in a very long time, three officers in the colours of my counts-as-Bloody Rose detachment:

Behind them is part of the reason it's taken so long, eighteen of their unruly charges who are also sort of finished but not on sculpted bases so waiting for me to have the bloody-mindedness to Astrogranite + Valhallan Blizzard their bases.
I'd say "next, their Rhinos" but I don't plan on playing them this month (at least outside the confines of TTS), so there's Bladeguard and Eradicators that need to come first.

Maybe! They seem to be the new hotness, so I may back-burner them for a bit* - I'm kind of in a "let's try to make Nurgle work" mood.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 2:37 pmThey look fantastic - can't wait to see them on the board, maybe we can have a multiplayer Orruk bash at the next Westernhammer?![]()
*On the other hand, we may be far enough removed from Grymwatch Hegemony that I can give them a go too.
