Ooooooh. I was
this close to actually ordering some product from GW. Sure, two books is not a lot, but it’d have been a toe being dipped back into the water. Thank you, GW, for reminding me how poorly you treat your customers in Japan, NZ and Australia. It wouldnt have been hard, as a temporary measure, to just say “customers from Jp, NZ and Aus can still order, but it’ll take a little longer” and then behind the scenes just have the GW stores here and in NZ and Oz just order in copies as needed from their overseas locations. Since I, as a private individual, can do this and still save substantial money, there is no reasonable excuse for GW not also being able to do it. But no. We can just wait indefinitely, and then pay a huge markup.
No. Just…no. Why do customers have to carry the responsibility for the company’s fuck ups? (And it is a company fuck up. There’s been a lockdown in Australia for some time now. They can hardly claim to have been curveballed by it.) Even if it meant a small drop in profits, it’d be basic politeness (and basic PR) for GW to just…be flexible? Try and provide an alternative method? At least fucking apologise?
But nah. We get to wait.
