Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Obviously, these are all just rumours at this stage, so who knows what will pan out.
I think pintle mounted multimeltas were always a thing on Black Templar Land Raiders, so porting them across to other vehicles isn't such a big change. Other chapters will be stuck with their codex approved options though.
Plastic Aspect Warriors should have been a thing a decade ago. Hopefully GW does a good job with them.
Isn't Darkstrider the Pathfinder character? (I'm not overly familiar with Tau). A new set of Pathfinders for Kill Team doesn't sound so far fetched when you consider that they made a whole new set of IG minis just after updating the Cadians. I'm guessing the upgrade kit will give them a load of options for KT, and that the new codex brings that equipment over to 40K along with the option to lean heavily into a Pathfinder theme with Darkstrider.

Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Plastic Aspect Warriors and other plastic infantry model updates have been taking way longer than they should. I'm hoping the new Kill Team will be an easier way for them to justify releasing more random infantry kits. Personally I can't wait for the eventual Khorne Berserker release.
Darkstrider is technically a Pathfinder character who can provide a buff which does synergize with their heavy firepower, but he works better with more aggressive infantry like Breachers (Fire Warriors with Pulse Blasters, i.e., shotguns) since he can allow a single unit to fall back and shoot.
The Pathfinder kit including extra gear options other than weapons is an interesting though. They already serve as a utility unit given that they are one of the main Markerlight platfroms of the army and can access unique support drones like the Pulse Accelerator Drone, the Grav-Inhibitor Drone, and the Recon Drone which no other unit has access to. I'm not sure how I feel about throwing more support options on them since they already have a lot of functions and since they are an extremely fragile platform (T3, SV5+). Leaning heavily into the Pathfinder theme in Kill Team would be fine but in regular 40k I don't see how they could realistically push Pathfinder + Darkstrider as being a significant part of the army given that most Pathfinder units tend to die on turn 1 even when they're only carrying Markerlights.
I guess I'll have to wait till January to see what they're doing with the Tau codex this time.

Interesting rumours! They all look quite legitimate as well given how the Black Templars are turning out. It looks like I won't be seeing a new Guard codex for a long time then - although I'm not so upset about that.
However if they stick with the one codex a month thing, it looks like some armies will be waiting almost an entire year for a release. Yikes.

Chaos Marines and Eldar didn't get a codex during 5th edition, which lasted for about 8 years if I remember correctly.

Impressed with the BT, like the new flammer.
Chaos needs a lot of updates, hope they get them.
Space elves won't be helped by the new Codex. Harli's and Dark all the way.
I don't think we will ever see a complete Squat army. I have seen that rumour too many times. They would probably try it in Kill Team or something first.

Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Is this maybe like the initial Sisters and CSM releases, where the first set released is a restricted / not great loadout, and it'll be followed by a more flexible kit? I'm not sure why they keep doing that, but it does seem to be a pattern.
(Also, and I know this isn't a real answer, but pointing at a squad of dudes who mostly have shootas and saying "they all have shootas" works too.)

Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
It's clearly a Kill Team sprue not a 40k one
But yeah the Sister's Collector box and thus the Combat Patrol has a similar problem, no options and questionable squad size for the Repentia (though again fine for Kill Team 2021 if you want to run Repentia Superior, oddly enough).
I'm not sure why this happens either given the cost of tooling for the kits?

Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
It's the new Boyz that are going to be included in the new Combat Patrol box. It makes no sense to have to tool for two different boxes for the same unit type but I guess GW has their mysterious reasons. This doesn't affect me personally since I have more than enough Boyz and bits but I feel bad for any new Ork players.
Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Oh yeah, I just saw that.
It's completely silly, but if they follow it up with another more flexible stand alone kit then I won't mind too much. I still really like the old Boyz kit, so I might have to quickly grab another one before it disappears!
