Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!

It is entirely likely that they will just repackage the old boyz at a small (20-40%) markup.

A new, slimmed down KT box is coming.
https://www.warhammer-community.com/202 ... t-started/
It contains the kommando and krieg teams, some small pieces of terrain, counters and a smaller version of the core book.
There is also a picture floating around of the Tau Vs. Sisters KT set.

Regarding the Tau upgrades, from what I can tell from the pictures on their website it mostly just looks like Kill Team specific equipment. A lot of it seems to be heads with visors (keep the helmets on!), slight variations of existing weapons (probably won't show up in 40k like the Ork Komando shootas), and a bunch of other random bits that are probably just used to make certain specialists.
Overall I'm not too surprised I guess? and I'm probably still not going to get it.
The smaller Kill Team box though, I would rather have bought that than the full size box since I'm a sucker for compact rule books...

Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Looks like this is basically the full reveal of the pattern moving forward - every quarter gives us a box with two teams, some terrain and a small rulebook, the next quarter we get those two kill teams separately. It is interesting that it seems to be a mix of completely bespoke teams like the sisters and "just" upgrade sprues like the Pathfinders. My big question, especially considering the way the Tau look, is whether they'll always be completely separate kill teams like the Veteran Guard or Kommandos are, or fire teams that you can fold into an existing kill team. (I also wonder whether Chalnath will have the big rulebook from the core set, or the small rulebook from the new "starter set".)
Also the new Underworlds season was announced, and the models look cool, although putting the orc leader's head in a birdcage may make it hellishly difficult to paint depending on how the easy-build shenanigans go. (I'm amused that the season name, Harrowdeep, is literally just a Thesaurus swap from the last season, Direchasm.)

I was completely wrong about the quarterly FOMO box.
Not that you *can* miss out since they are doing separate team releases but that would require me to act like an adult and exercise a modicum of self control and I don't wanna

If you're getting the new Sisters vs Tau box I could do you a favour and get those horrible-can't-even-fight-in-melee Tau out of your hands.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 12:36 amI was completely wrong about the quarterly FOMO box.

Almost certainly but I'd want the book, so if it's anything like Octarius you'd need to get their rules from somewhere else
I wonder if I can magnetise the terrain
Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Sure, I don't care too much about the rule book and campaign book since I'd probably just end up using Battlescribe and/or other resources anyway.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 1:38 amAlmost certainly but I'd want the book, so if it's anything like Octarius you'd need to get their rules from somewhere else

Even though some extra pathfinders would be cool, I just want to build them with helmets instead of the new visors/heads. I don't want to paint faces if I can help it. At least the visors will cover the eyes in most cases.
You could probably magnetise the side walls since the pillars are pretty thick but I'm not sure about the floors. At least the terrain in Octarius wasn't as tall making it easier to carry around.

Interesting, the word is that those Sisters are also an upgrade sprue rather than a whole new kit. I'm not too familiar with the base kit, but how would that work? New torsos and heads, basically?
