I totally agree that GW win biggest villain award. I also reckon that Heath done good as the Joker. Compared to how he played that chappy in a Knight's Tale, the two characters are polar opposites, yet Ledger-san pulls em both off very well. Quit yer mingin' Pikey - the current incarnation of Batman (movies, not just Bale) is dang good, and far, far superior to any previous movie efforts. (and its pointless to compare the comics to the movies, as they are different medium with different storytelling traits.)

Mate, this is partly why I have decided to boycot them. I now get all my minis second hand on Ebay. GW will never see a penny of my money again. It has been almost a year now and I have yet to put any money into their coffers.

Huh?

Heathy boy wasn't bad, I'm just saying he didn't really do anything with the character. His and Jack Nicholson's portrayal were simply products of their respective eras and an already well developed character. The early 90's version was loud, brash and way over the top, much like every action movie around that time. The naughties' version is dark, edgy and brutal, pretty much like every action/suspense movie in the last 10 years. Go figure?

I bet the first face-to-face between the Director and Heath went something like this:
Dir: So Heath, how were you thinking of playing the Joker, a dark, soul-less, psychopathic, narcissistic clown/criminal?
HL: I was going to play it light hearted and breezy. Whaddya think?
Dir: That might work, but we were thinking, more like a dark, soul-less, psychopathic, narcisstic clown/criminal. Could you do that for us Heath baby?
HL: Sure, whatever. I gotta go and bang one of the Olsen twins. I can never remember which one though.

As for Mr. Bale. What the frack was with the growly voice? Was he too hoarse from berating the crew?

Dumb, dumb, movie that!

I would even go so far as to say it was dumber than 'Judge Dredd' (which was complete and utter rubbish) just because it took itself so seriously whilst the latter pile of bovine excrement at least had the sense not to take itself too seriously.

Bale pre- Dark Knight was aces.
Watch Equilibrium and American Psycho and call me a liar.
Dark Knight Bale and after was drek.
Take Terminator 4.
Random cast member -"John, the terminators are coming."
Bale (in super deep growly voice) - "I'm Batman!"
Random cast member - "What? Frak this, I'm leaving."
