Now you have me wondering how many I have...and making me afraid to count.
What did you do today.

So many games, so little time....

Careful, it can be quite shocking.YellowStreak wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 9:53 pmNow you have me wondering how many I have...and making me afraid to count.
No painting for me yesterday. I spent more time sorting through boxes of minis, mainly my various crusaders and their opponents for the Saga and Hail Caesar games. I did manage to get some more minis built for those projects and saw what I needed to do to get them onto a table at some point.

Over the past few days I have been making very gradual progress on my Japanese infantry and a small new project I picked up from Jus's Magical Miniature Manufactorum.

The first batch of minis from my new project are nearing completion, and the Japanese just need their bases doing. I also made a small start on some Roman auxiliary archers.

Re: What did you do today.
I managed to get a couple of hours in behind a brush tonight.
My Japanese infantry need some flock and tufts applying to be finished off.
The first entry on my small new project needs a bit of basing, but the main painting stage is done.
And the Roman auxiliaries had a couple of base colours applied. Still loads to do though.
I hope everyone else's hobby week has been productive.

Nice work Primarch!
I've been painting but I chose a big model so it's nowhere near done. I'll switch back to assembly for a bit as I broke off the spring on my trusty Tamiya clippers so I replaced them with a midrange God Hand pairs as well as some similar Tamiyas and I need to build some stuff to see which I prefer.

And I finally have some models to show off.
First of all, some WW2 Japanese troops.

These are the last of the models for my Japanese army, that I bought 8 years ago when Bolt Action V.2 came out. With the 3rd edition of the game right around the corner, it is nice to be done with them. Of course, no army is ever really done, but I have finished all of the models I own, which is as good as I am going to get for now.
And with one project done, another starts. This is the first unit of infantry (Some Zouaves for anyone who cares) for the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. The models are all from some STL files Jus printed up for me. I have another 5 units of infantry to do and 2 units of cavalry, with more likely to be ordered in the very near future. The figures are 10mm and I have included one of the 28mm Japanese figures for a comparison. I still need to get some banners sorted out for these chaps.

Re: What did you do today.
The infantry does look snazzy! That's an 8-cm base, right?
I've been gamely assembling some minis I picked up the other day (I guess I'm doing Spearhead!) and really pitying the 12-year-old who's new to the hobby and picks up one of the Spearhead boxes (or their mom or dad who helps them with assembly) - I've been spoiled by mostly assembling the push-fit-if-still-pretty-complex Underworlds kits for so long. Still, I should be done soon and can get priming, so I should be able to debut AoS at September's games day.

Re: What did you do today.
I built several kits with my new clippers, including a back to back comparison with two copies of the Squig Herd kit. I was mildly surprised to find the Tamiya clippers did better but it really comes down to form factor - the God Hand PN-135 is single bladed and has a chunkier opposite edge that is a little more awkward on a dense GW sprue.
Probably time to do some painting now
I'm terrible at painting anything I'm not going to immediately use in a game though, so my recent habit of wanting to play things with Codexes has derailed me from the one army I'd fully primed - World Eaters.
(Oh wait I never primed their Rhinos. I really do need to sneak out on the balcony and prime a couple of choice things, but typhoon week does not seem to be the optimal time)
