The infantry does look snazzy! That's an 8-cm base, right?
It's 9cm by 4cm, cut from some 1.2mm plastic sheet from Joshin. It's probably not strong enough for a bunch of metal 28mm minis, but it does the job for light resin models and it is fairly cheap compared to getting MDF shipped halfway round the world. I looked at using an 8cm base, but the minis were right up against the edges.

@Jye - When you are assembling as many minis as you do, good clippers are essential. I could probably do with getting some new ones myself, mine are getting a little blunt.

Yeah, clippers and hobby knives are both things that I always let go too long, and am always slightly surprised at how easy they make everything when you switch from blunt to sharp.

I finished assembly on my little spearhead, and thought I'd paint up some of my underworlds backlog while I wait for a priming window.

As with all of the Underworlds groups that have them, it is the animal that is the star of the show. That squid is awesome.

Well I havent painted in a bit due to work travel, but am back in Japan. Added to the project backlog picking up the Space Marine Adventures Tyranid Attack and Combat Arena Lair of the Beast.

The next thing in the painting queue is another 40K board game Doomsday Countdown which I bought quite a while ago and have decided to pretty up the cultists to try it out (I have more than enough marines to play!).

That's helping me get over the sad of GW basically removing Deathwatch as an army in 40K...

Finally painted a model. Few more of these red blokes to go though.

@Jye - That is one very angry looking dude, well done.

I spent most of today painting very small horses, and adding a touch of paint to some properly scaled Romans.

Very angery!

Getting on a roll as I do, I finished up the Thricefold Discord (three demons who hate each other's guts) for Underworlds last night:
Image

They're sort of a proof-of-concept for my spearhead, and I think the scheme works (if they do look a bit like Froot Loops). For the paint-heads out there, I tried something a bit different this time, and used an aggressively-colorful magenta preshade rather than my usual neutral brown or grey:
Image
And I think it worked - the purples and yellows are a lot richer than I usually get (compare the tzeentch weirdos I did a bit ago, which use a lot of the same paints but came out a lot more pastel-toned over a grey preshade):
