First of a pair of Chaos Rhinos intended to be used by all four cult armies. The story is they all buy disposable rides from the lowest bidder neutral warband. This one is a bit Khorne themed, the other will be a little Tzeentch but intended to be a bit generic.

I perservered longer than I should have with some leadbelcher dregs so the metal bits are rough but it's Chaos, they don't deserve nice things

I was supposed to paint some more guys to go into the Rhino but I got lazy. Of course now the Rhino is done and I still need to paint the guys. Don:t expect much progress for the rest of October (holidays!) but I'm at 1660 points and should be able to manage 2K for the November game day.

I've been doing some "boring stage" painting for both LI and AoS, plus my Fire and Jade set arrived yesterday so I've been thinking about how to paint up the scenery in an interesting way.

Aside from that it's been eyeing the forthcoming Mechanicum and Dark Mechanicum releases for Epic and vacillating between wanting them and being satisfied with my Auxilia and hoping one of the local Japanese guys who was making noises about Epic gets into them instead so I don't have to.

Anyone have any leads on matte varnish? What brands are good and available? And how do you apply them properly?

I use Vallejo's airbrush varnish (applied by brush) as it comes in a big bottle for a reasonable price from Volks.

DCM home centers have a spray varnish (in their ラッカースプレー line, just the ツヤ消し clear in the white can) that is quite matte that I've been using a while with no problems. They used to have a brand that was pretty satin-y despite being labeled ツヤ消し but this formulation is Good Enough For Me, Anyway.

Can confirm, nmm is hard. Pretty happy with how the gold came out (there is an attempt or two under the final product). Think I could do better with the halberd. Also it looks more yellow in the photos.

And it's finally time for the files I got in 8th grade to move on to the tool drawer in the sky :')

@Grantholomeu - Really nice job on that mini. That looks like it took a lot of time and effort.
