Jobs a good one man... I think it will look better with some paint on it. Nice use of Green stuff. very good work for a first attempt too.

Thanks to Prim for giving me the last key-bits necessary today, my Chapter Master conversion is now complete:

Original model used is the Terminator Captain http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... rod1050241

Conversion List :
* Head originally moulded to the model was swapped using a dremel tool and green stuff with a converted Chaos Terminator Lord head that had its horns filed off.
* Iron Halo added on top.
* Right arm Storm Bolter was removed using a dremel tool and replaced with a Storm Hammer.
* Left hand Storm Shield added.
* Cape made of green stuff added on back.

Totally maybe I spended around 10-15 hours on him.

Please tell me what you think. (Sorry about the bad pictures)

from what I can see you have done a very good job on the had replacement..
Did you pin the hands? if you did not pin them I hope your glue is very strong... Green stuff is not a sub for glue in most cases if you drop him and the hands are not pined they will just pop off...

agreed, with both of yez.

lovely conversion.
need to pin the hands/arms on. Youll be sorry if you dont...

btw - some advice for scultping cloaks. Roll out a flat bit of green stuff about 1mm thick on a piece of lubed up plasticard. let it cure a wee bit. Use a sharp as hell knife to cut out a kinda triangle shape (actually not a triangle, as his neck has thickness. more a:

...........=====
........./........\
......../...........\
......./.............\
....../...............\
...../____________\

kinda shape. Anyway, then drape that artfully over his shoulders, bend it around a bit to make it all swishy, and press the top corners under his shoulder pads. Then hang him from something (propped over two paint pots usually works) so that gravity pulls his cloak down and slightly out from him, so it looks like its blowing a bit in the wind.

Thank you guys,

My original plan was to pin him, but when I was about to do it I saw that the drill heads that I had bought for my dremel tool were way too big for a small model like this, maybe they will work for a larger model like a dreadnought but not this one. So, as impatient as I am I used green stuff mixed with 2 different kinds of glues instead. The result was satisfactory but I guess not as good as if it was pinned it. Anyway the arms are stuck so hard now that I would have a problem taking them off. I guess if anything falls off in the future I will pin it to him that time.

As for the cape, that sounds like a really nice tutorial MiJ, thanks.

Just a head's up - pretty much any place that sells hobby supplies (even, like, the hobby section in Apita) will have Tamiya pin vises (like this) for a couple thousand yen including a selection of bits. It's a good investment.
